TALENT INCUBATOR PROGRAM
Under the auspices of the National Innovation Center (NIC) belong to the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam, the Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea (VINK) is executing the “Talent Incubator” program, led by Dr. Pham Dinh Lam, who serves as a Research Professor at the Content Convergence Software Research Institute at Kyonggi University and is the Vice-chairman of VINK.
The “Talent Incubator” program is designed to equip Vietnamese students with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for studying postgraduate (Master’s, Ph.D.) as well as to introduce postgraduate scholarships overseas. This program targets several groups: third-year students or higher, recent university graduates eager to pursue further studies; university lecturers aiming for a Master’s or PhD to enhance their academic careers; and engineers, specialists or researchers looking to acquire advanced degrees to upgrade their skills or transition into academic.
The lecturers in the program are part of the VINK and currently serve as professors, research professors, and researchers at various universities in Korea. They also engage in research and work at major corporations and companies across the country.
Recognizing the challenges in accessing scholarship information, many students may find themselves aware of scholarship opportunities but lacking the necessary knowledge—be it specialized skills, soft skills, or language proficiency—to apply for international postgraduate scholarships. In the “Talent Incubator” program, participants will undergo a comprehensive training, testing, and evaluation process. Following this, they will be introduced to various postgraduate scholarships and receive targeted training in specialized knowledge, scientific research, and internship skills to successfully navigate the scholarship interview stage. The training duration will last between 3 to 6 months, culminating in the attainment of a postgraduate scholarship.
Moreover, once students receive the scholarship, they continue to be supported and guided by VINK members during their studies and research overseas. This includes assistance with the language and culture of the host country, sharing research skills such as accessing prestigious seminars and quality scientific journals, as well as tips on writing and presenting scientific articles. Additionally, they provide insights into emerging research trends and advanced research directions.
The “Talent Incubator” program aims to expand international postgraduate scholarship opportunities for more Vietnamese individuals, thereby enhancing the scientific and technical capabilities of Vietnamese professionals. In 2025, the program will pilot the following fields of study: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data Analysis.
